Hello! My name is Krista, and I am excited to share my journey towards a non-toxic lifestyle with you. My husband Mark and I were high school sweethearts and will have been married 24 years this July. We have two children, Alexis, who was married to Efren this past December, and Aaron, who is 17 and thinks he is grown! I live a busy but fairly healthy life. I have been a Labor and Delivery nurse for over 6 years, and before that, I was an elementary teacher for 13 years. We live on a few acres in a small town outside of DFW and have a home full of animals. We have 15 chickens that we get fresh eggs from daily, a "mini pig" who is 250 lbs named Chris P. Bacon, a Doberman named Zeus, a Great Dane named Skye, a Frenchie named Sophie, a Siamese cat named Fiona, and an orange kitten named Mac. My daughter and son and law currently live with us while they search for their first home. They also have two cats named Pepper and Stormy. Most of our family lives around DFW, and we spend a lot of time with them, including my four nieces and one nephew. I love to read, travel, and try new things.
At the age of 40, I experienced a life-changing event—a heart attack.
(I will share more of the details later on.) This shocking wake-up call made me realize just how short and precious life can be. I recognized that in order to truly live my best life, I needed to make significant changes to my health and well-being.
Through this transformation, I have discovered the importance of reducing toxins in my environment and making healthier choices for my mental well being. My goal is to inspire others to consider their own lifestyles and the impact it has on their health. Together, we can embrace a full life that prioritizes wellness, vitality, and is still fun!

Ways I Am Making My Life "Nontoxic"
Embracing a "nontoxic" lifestyle involves more than just being mindful of the products I use; it encompasses my overall well-being, including my environment, relationships, and personal passions. Here are the numerous ways I am cultivating a healthier, more positive life:
1. Mindful Consumption
Reading Ingredients: I take the time to read labels and understand the ingredients in the products I purchase. This helps me avoid harmful chemicals and choose safer alternatives.
Buying Nontoxic Items: I prioritize purchasing nontoxic household and personal care items, such as cleaning supplies, skincare, and cosmetics, to reduce my exposure to harmful substances.
2. Nurturing My Passions
Engaging in Hobbies: I dedicate time to activities I love, such as reading, traveling, or learning something new, which brings joy and fulfillment to my life.
Practicing Mindfulness: I integrate mindfulness practices like meditation and yoga into my routine, helping me stay grounded and focused on the present moment.
3. Cultivating Positive Relationships
Cutting Toxic People Out: I have made the conscious decision to distance myself from individuals who bring negativity and drama into my life, allowing me to surround myself with supportive and uplifting people.
Building a Supportive Network: I actively seek out friendships and connections with those who inspire and motivate me, fostering a positive social environment.
4. Prioritizing Mental Health
Seeking Professional Help: I am open to seeking therapy or counseling when needed, recognizing the importance of mental health in my overall well-being.
Setting Boundaries: I establish healthy boundaries in my relationships to protect my emotional space and ensure I am prioritizing my needs.
5. Embracing a Healthy Lifestyle
Eating Whole Foods: I focus on incorporating whole, organic foods into my diet, reducing processed foods that can be detrimental to my health.
Regular Exercise: I make physical activity a priority, whether through yoga, hiking, or dancing, to enhance my physical and mental well-being.
By integrating these practices into my daily life, I am actively working towards a "nontoxic" lifestyle that promotes wellness, positivity, and fulfillment. Each step I take contributes to creating a healthier and happier version of myself.
I love this! I am doing the same. You inspire me!
